Towards Recovery

Our latest Recovery Group first came together on June 25 2009, and met for 20 weeks. The group, which comprises 10 members and two facilitators, met at St Mary’s Church, College Road, Bromley every Thursday from 12.30-2pm. Other Bromley Borough Recovery Groups meet in Orpington and Penge. Recovery Groups are an important aspect of our work. They enable group members to discuss their experiences of mental-health issues and explore strategies for recovery. They don’t aim to cure or deny mental-health conditions, but they do explore ways of rebuilding lives and self-esteem, while acknowledging that group members will experience symptoms and need medication and other coping tools.

If you are interested in attending a Recovery Group, please be aware that group members must make a firm commitment to attend every week.
