About Community Options

Our Approach

Community Options is a leading mental health charity in London and the South East

Our mission is to enable people with mental health needs to work towards recovery and lead valued lives in their community.

Our focus is providing a quality service delivered by quality staff.

From our roots in registered care homes we have grown organically, adapting to the ever-changing needs of our clients and stakeholders to provide a range of flexible mental health support services.

In 2010 we merged with Heritage Care and took over the management of their Mental Health Services.

We can now provide gateway access to new services including learning difficulties support and elderly residential care.

Making recovery the focus of mental health services

Promoting the reality of recovery requires a positive and hopeful environment that encourages and values people as human beings. At Community Options we create positive environments that provide hope and promote the idea of recovery. Read more – our approach

We work with people who have a range of mental health needs, associated with mild anxiety and depression to severe and enduring mental health problems.

We specialise in supporting people with mental health needs both on a short-term intensive and continuing basis through our accommodation and community support services.

We specialise in training and development programmes on recovery approaches and recovery promoting competencies for mental health workers.

We manage a range of networks and activities that foster positive community relationships and supportive social networks.

Last year we supported some 700 individual clients and 23 separate service user groups. In total we provided 32,000 hours of community support and led over 120 recovery training events.
