Training our staff

We support staff with qualification training, short courses, coaching and workshops throughout their employment and have recently introduced an annual staff away day.  In addition to our comprehensive 5-day induction programme and statutory training, all staff attend regular workshops on recovery and specialist training according to their needs. 

Staff are kept up to date with developments in mental health through conferences and a comprehensive training and development programme, which currently includes:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
  • management development including NVQ4 and Registered Managers Award
  • the recovery concept and practice
  • person-centred planning
  • motivational interviewing
  • relapse prevention
  • crisis intervention and de-escalation
  • listening and counseling skills
  • dual diagnosis
  • protection of vulnerable adults
  • reminiscence
  • nutrition for older adults
