Full integration to take place between
Community Options and Heritage Care

Community Options & Heritage Care began the process of merging 5 years ago, sharing many corporate and business functions. Now the Trustee Boards of both Heritage Care and Community Options believe that the time is right to consolidate the expertise and understanding across the two organisations and fully integrate.

Mark Milton CEO of Heritage Care said:
Working closer together will provide opportunities for development of services, systems and resources and it will strengthen the service offer. It will provide our staff with greater opportunities for skill development and promotion across a broader range of services and disciplines. This completion of the merging process is the final piece in the jigsaw and will see us in a good position to face the challenges in our industry sector for decades to come.”

Tracy Simpson, Director of Community Options responds:
“We have operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Heritage Care for the past 5 years. During this time we have changed as an organisation in response to the challenging social and economic environments in which we now work. Looking to the future this final coming together means we can work to expand the breadth of our services across a broader geographic area and ensure we can continue to support the mental health needs of some of the most vulnerable in our society.”

A period of consultation with both Staff, Service Users, Volunteers, Friends and Family, Commissioners, Unions and other partner organisations will begin.

The final date for full integration will be on 1st October 2016.

A ‘Merger Roadshow’ begins in April with Tracy Simpson, Director of Community Options visiting all existing projects and services to answer any queries or questions people might have. Details are listed below and staff, service users, friends and family are welcome to attend any of the events.
